Death Train: Detonator (1993) -
Producer Peter Snell
Originally titled Alistair MacLean's Death Train when it premiered over the USA Cable Network on April 14, 1993, the film was retitled Detonator for its theatrical release. One of Pierce Brosnan's earlier films, it also stars Christopher Lee, Patrick Stewart, Ted Levine and Alexandra Paul and directed by David S Jackson. The script was based on an Alastair MacNeill novel of the same name, which in turn was based on an Alistair MacLean screenplay. A German scientist helps a Soviet general construct two nuclear bombs, one of which is being transported across Europe by a mercenary on a train. Malcolm Philpott (Stewart), a member of UNACO, (United Nation Anti Crime Organisation), is tasked to stop the bomb using a team of agents, one of whom is Special Forces soldier Michael 'Mike' Graham (Brosnan), but the only person who knows the combination to disarm the bombs has been subjected to radiation and is slowly dying.
